🐝 The Weekly Buzz:

The future is small. Well at least according to Sphere, who is planing to announce smaller capacity “mini-spheres” that will hold 5,000 (Sphere in Vegas holds 20,000 for comparison). This comes on the heels of their financial results which saw their revenue drop 2% to $308m. Sounds like a nice chunk of change yea? Let’s scroll down to the net loss column…. A staggering $126m net loss on the quarter and a net loss of $231m in the last 6 months of 2024. Small sounds nice right now.

‘A Working Man’ starring every-dad’s-favorite-action-hero Jason Statham just beat out ‘Snow White’ for the number one spot with a $15 million opening. Snow White is in official bomb territory (facing a $300m loss) and down 66% on the week. Leaving out the Pandemic years, this will be the worst March at the U.S. box office since 1995, when all films grossed $313 million, and may very well be the first time that March has not produced a $100 million film domestically since 2004.

Not 1, but FOUR Beatles movies will be dropping in April 2028. Sam Mendes, the filmmaker behind all 4 films announced the cast:

• Paul Mescal = Paul McCartney

• Joseph Quinn = George Harrison

• Barry Keoghan = Ringo Starr

• Harris Dickinson = John Lennon

That’s either a nightmare or dream blunt rotation depending on who you ask..

Music Ally dropped their Spring 2025 Insights Report, diving into the current trends powering the music streaming ecosystem. We read it so you don’t have to. Highlights below:

• There were 752 million paid streaming subscriptions globally at the end of 2024.

• The predicted annual revenue from the global streaming market in 2030 is $80.3 billion.

• There are currently 9.4 million artists with less than 10 monthly listeners

Billie Eilish and Finneas have hired new management in a landmark move. Their new manager Jason Owen at Sandbox Entertainment has a roster that includes Kasey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini amongst others.

‘Legend of Zelda,’ one of the best selling video games of all time, is officially getting a live action film. The movie is set for a theatrical release in March 26th of 2027, and it will be produced by Sony Pictures. It was first shared in November of 2023, but the final details have been confirmed by the game’s creator here.

Pophouse Entertainment has raised over $1.3 billion for a music rights buying fund. The Stockholm based firm behind ABBA Voage is “one of the largest first-time private equity funds to be raised in Europe in the last decade,” and has used 30% of that fund for partnerships with KISS, Cyndi Lauper, Avicii, and more.

Kendrick Lamar’s movie with the creators of South Park has been pushed back to 2026. Paramount has announced the movie will be pushed from July 4, 2025 to March 20, 2026.
