🍯 The Weekly Buzz:

The Grammys 2025 nominees have been released. Outside of the Song and Album of the year, one of the most talked about awards has become the “Best New Artist.” Maybe it’s because you’ve seen people posting from the Spotify Best New Artist Party and wish you got the invite (same), or because Artist seem to explode on the scene faster than ever (buy our Industry Plant merch here).

We have one question with some of the below inclusions: is the “New” in the room with us? To be clear, each of these artists is incredible, and as deserving as the rest to be included on this list, but did the Record Academy miss when everyone made their entire personality about liking Khruangbin (or at least knowing how to pronounce it) the last 5 years?

Beyoncé leads the overall Nomination count with 11; Kendrick Lamar, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Post Malone earned 7 each, while Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan picked up six apiece. Check out the rest of the Grammy nominees here.

This week Pharrell Williams shared with the world that he was fired from McDonald’s on three separate occasions for “eating all of the chicken nuggets.” I feel you on that last part man - we’ve all been there.

Tyler, the Creator’s new album “CHROMAKOPIA” debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200. With this most recent chart topping move, Tyler officially becomes the first hip-hop artist to have a #1 album in 4 consecutive years.

Free Young Thug has officially been released from prison this week. There are a lot of terms involved with his release, and you can learn about it all here.
