The list already includes acts like Stevie Nicks, Tate McRae, and Jelly Roll, and the full lineup may be the most stacked bill of all time? In related news, the list of celebrities who are working to help the relief efforts in other ways continues to increase. Beyoncé donated $2.5 million, Doja Cat is partnering with the American Red Cross to design a line of merchandise to raise money.

Moana 2 officially eclipsed $1 billion in the global box office. It is now the third Disney produced movie in 2024 to reach this mark, following in the footsteps of Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine. Read more about the accomplishment here.

Luminate released their 2024 year end report which you can find in full here, but below are some highlights:

• Global music on-demand audio (ODA) streams reached 4.8 trillion in 2024, increasing year-on-year by 14%

• Streaming remains the dominant format for music consumption, accounting for 91% of equivalent activity in the US

• Pop’s popularity surged, surpassing Latin as the fastest-growing genre, with solo female artists including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Sabrina Carpenter driving 64% of audio streams

• Despite a 2% decline in its overall share, R&B/Hip Hop remained the most streamed genre, accounting for one in every four US streams

Universal Music Group has replied to Drake’s lawsuit stating that he ‘seeks to weaponize the legal process to silence an artist’s creative expression.’ This is response to Drake accusing UMG of promoting a false narrative about him. Streamers including Kai Cenat have been involved and you are just as lost as I am already.

In other movie news, The Brutalist has been in the news for utilizing AI to aid sound design in the film. Director Corbet spoke out saying, “They worked for months with dialect coach Tanera Marshall to perfect their accents. Innovative Respeecher technology was used in Hungarian language dialogue editing only, specifically to refine certain vowels and letters for accuracy.” Some are lobbying for the film to be excluded from the awards circuit.
