📞 The Call Log: Kiely Mosiman, VP & Music Agent at Wasserman

Nashville-based Wasserman Music Vice President Kiely Mosiman has a proven track record for building extraordinary live music careers for an enviable list of clients.

Along with fellow agents Jackie Nalpant, Adele Slater, and Anna Bewers, Mosiman signed Chappell Roan to the global agency and has played a critical role in creating and executing the pop phenomenon’s live performance strategy. Roan has sold more than 100,000 in North America in 2024, blowing out pre-sales and upgrading to larger venues in many markets on her spring tour after her breakthrough Coachella performance and arena shows supporting Olivia Rodrigo. Roan drew massive crowds this year at major festivals, including, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Boston Calling, Hangout, Lollapalooza, Osheaga, Outside Lands and Austin City Limits. Her Lollapalooza set drew the largest daytime audience in the festival’s history.

Additionally, Mosiman helped to orchestrate a triumphant arena tour for breakout dream-pop artists Cigarettes After Sex, who quickly rose to sell out large venues like Madison Square Garden and two nights at Los Angeles’s Kia Forum, as well as nabbing key slots at major festivals including Outside Lands, Bonnaroo, and Austin City Limits. Mosiman’s client roster also includes both established and rising stars like Goth Babe, Margo Price, FIDLAR, Saint Motel, Briston Maroney, Evan Honer. BENEE, Durand Jones & The Indications, Gus Dapperton, Hippo Campus, and SAMIA.

A true power player in the live music industry, Mosiman was recently included on both Variety’s 2024 “Hollywood New Leaders” list and Pollstar’s 2024 “Impact NextGen” list, which recognize emerging executives who are moving the industry forward in unprecedented ways, among other industry accolades. AvA: What was your first job in the music industry?

Mosiman: I sold merch at Wakarusa Music Festival starting in 2004. Child labor??? Maybe.

AvA: What are the 3 memorable campaigns you've worked on?

Mosiman: This is so hard for me to answer so I’m thinking of moments in my life!

  • Hippo Campus Landmark Tour 2017 – I was a brand new agent and they sold out the Teragram in LA and 2 nights at First Ave Minneapolis, it was a huge deal!

  • Durand Jones & the Indications Private Space tour 2021 – I think it was the first tour we announced coming out of covid that played off without being postponed

  • Chappell Roan Midwest Princess 2023-24

AvA: There are many attributes that contribute to a successful career, but are there any consistent traits of peers who have risen to the top?

Mosiman: Not having an ego or being above doing certain tasks. If you are someone who makes other people’s jobs easier you will get noticed no matter what title you have.

AvA: The music industry is more saturated than ever, yet fandoms have never been stronger. How are you seeing Artists grow their brands in unique ways?

Mosiman: World building is what I think consistently sets people or bands apart in the abyss.

AvA: One prediction for the music industry?

Mosiman: I’m trying to speak this into the universe: that there will be legislation on ticketing that supports artists over scalpers.

AvA: One piece of advice for someone just starting their career?

Mosiman: It’s better to ask questions someone expects you to know the answer to than to have the wrong answer because you pretended to know something you did not.

AvA: If money was no object, what would your dream job/career be (outside of the Entertainment Industry)?

Mosiman: Honestly I love my job but if I didn’t work in music or sports…. I always wanted to be a spy.

AvA: Book or podcast recommendation?

Mosiman: It’s old but I always recommend S-Town for people who haven’t listened.
