1) Production Assistants are victorious in unionizing for the first time
In a major move, “The Pitt” production assistants have unionized. It’s a huge milestone for Production Assistants United, who launched in 2023, and the first time assistants from a a major TV production have unionized. Read more.
2) The Wizard of Oz is grossing close to $2 million a day at The Sphere in Las Vegas. No, that was not a typo.
The venue is selling 4-5k tickets per day at $200 a pop
They are making more as a movie theater than shows like Backstreet Boys and whatever middle aged white male band they choose next.

3) YouTube’s first ever exclusive NFL game averaged more than 17.3 million global viewers. Was it a win?
In January 2025, Amazon reportedly had 13.2 million average viewers domestically per game for their Thursday Night Football broadcasts.
Netflix streamed 2 games on Christmas last year, which averaged ~13 million viewers each.
Yea, but: YouTube streamed the game for free to promote their exclusive Sunday Ticket deal, which Google is reportedly paying over $2 billion per year for the rights to.
4) WFH is dead?
At least to Paramount and NBCU, who are requiring their employees to be in the office 5 and 4 days a week respectively.
NBCU will give anyone not down with going back to the office “a voluntary exit assistance package” if they are VP level or below.”
Portion of the leaked memo:
“We understand you may need to make adjustments to adhere to this change. We ask that you use the time between now and January to make any necessary plans. If you will not be prepared to comply with the 4-day in-office requirement by January 5, 2026, please discuss your options with your HR manager. If you are VP level or below, you may be eligible for a voluntary exit assistance package.”

Chiderah Uzowulu, the ex-WME Assistant who sold his film at Cannes is giving back to current Assistants. He has an amazing story we profiled if you missed it.
He is adding 5 assistants to the guest list for a special screening of his film Hierarchy at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood tomorrow, September 11th.
