📰 Netflix is paying CASH for Warner Bros., The Sphere is having a baby, New highest grossing film in Hollywood history & more.

1) Netflix is now buying Warner Bros. in an all cash deal to further fight off Paramount’s attempt to finesse them.
If this goes through, that means Netflix will buy Warner Bros. for $82.7 billion (or $27.75 per share). That is a ‘tudum’ if I have ever heard one.
2) The Sphere is officially multiplying.
In our most random news of the week, Sphere Entertainment is teaming up with the state of Maryland to bring a ‘mini sphere’ to National Harbor. I thought this one was a joke when I first read it, but now that I’ve seen their plans, it’s actually pretty cool.
3) ‘Zootopia 2’ is officially Hollywood’s highest grossing animated film of all time with $1.7 billion.
The sequel to one of Disney’s break out projects notably has breached this point after being released in late 2025, and it dethroned another second film in a franchise (‘Inside Out 2’) that had $1.69 billion.
4) Jake Shane’s podcast is going to Netflix is a major move into the creator economy for the streamer
5) Bad Bunny broke the record for the most liked Super Bowl teaser video.
Benito cleared those who performed before him with a staggering 5 million likes and 69.3 million views on Instagram at the time of writing. For reference:
Rihanna – 4.1 million likes, 73 million views
Kendrick Lamar – 3 million likes, 54 million views
Usher – 238k likes, 6.6 million views
6) ‘Marty Supreme’ is A24’s highest grossing domestic film yet with $80 million grossed so far.
‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ is still their most successful project globally with $142 million.
