I don’t particularly enjoy baseball but that World Series game 7 had my heart racing more than a 30 minute surprise “catch up” meeting with HR. Also an 8 year high in viewers (25 million).

🏆 Every month we highlight the Entertainment assistants making a difference
This isn't a popularity contest or submitted by their PR teams. You also can't pay for these (yes this is directed at many of the other "awards" out there).
These are the next generation of leaders making an impact: think charity involvement, launching new ventures, standout career wins, or unique community contributions.
All are nominated by their peers.. and sometimes even their bosses October's winners are below:

1) The Recording Academy welcomed 3,800 new voting members
50% are age 39 and under
58% are people of color
35% identify as women
2) Q3 Earnings Report round-up’s are coming in hot this week:
Roku posted a positive operating income for the first time since 2021. Last Q3: -$35.8 million. This Q3: +$24.8 million. More here
Peacock posted a staggering $217M loss in Q3, with no change to their subscriber base. Hey at least it isn’t as bad as their $436M loss in the same quarter last year.
Universal Music Group reeled in $3.53 billion (+10.2%) due to the success of ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift. More here.
SiriusXM brought in a net income of nearly $300 million, with Pandora and other off-platform ad revenue reaching $416 million. Paid subscribers for Sirius properties hit $1.5 billion YoY.
3) Google pulled all Disney properties off of YouTube TV this past Thursday and are yet to strike a new deal.
This includes ESPN, ABC, and more, with Disney on the record saying that ‘Google is not interested in achieving a fair deal with us.’ Mom, the corporate overlords are fighting again…
4) TikTok is launching it’s first U.S. creator awards
It will be dishing out the awards Dec. 18 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, and stream live on their platform + Tubi . RIP to whoever is handling that guest list.
Has me thinking.. should we do an AvA Award Show?
5) Halloween is over which means one thing: Brentwood moms gather to take down their 8 foot skeletons for another year we look at the top 5 grossing Horror movies of 2025 so far.
One thing to note is that was the worst Halloween weekend at the theaters in 31 years and worst weekend of the year so far.

6) Soundcloud is now letting Artists keep 100% of royalties. Hell yea
100% Distribution Royalties: SoundCloud will eliminate its distribution revenue share, so artists can keep 100% of their royalties
Fan Support (without fees in the U.S.): Direct fan-to-artist support built right into artist profiles with a dedicated button, with zero commission from SoundCloud.
On-Demand Vinyl Shipping to 90 Countries: Tracks can be turned into vinyl without leaving SoundCloud, without requiring bulk orders or additional upfront costs.
Artist Storefronts: Artists can showcase their off-platform purchase options on SoundCloud directly alongside their music.
Artist Merch: Showcase merch directly alongside music, with all profit going to the artist.

Paramount’s President of Animation Ramsey Naito is the latest to step down amidst CEO David Ellison’s appointment. She previously launched the largest animation slate in Nickelodeon’s 40+ year history with over 70 projects, and with Paramount she helped spearhead IP like ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ that grossed over $1 billion in retail sales during her tenure.
Nickelodeon’s VP of Communications is leaving the company after 20 years. Lilah Kojoori worked across 'Spongebob,’ ‘Big Time Rush,’ and ‘Victorious’ just to name a few, and it seems like she just felt it was time to move on. (Paramount does own Nickelodeon so this may just be the part of the company that’s next on the chopping block.)
