Live Nation reports that 98% of fans now listen to music in languages other than English. Representation of all sorts is always a work in progress, but the globalization of music streaming (and Artists) continues.. and we love to see it. Full report here.
Sad day for the music industry, as Warner Music Group announces restructure of Atlantic Music Group, which includes a huge number of layoffs. Their restructuring plan has reduced head count by 750 and will save $260 million annually. There are also rumors that over 50 acts have been dropped from their roster. A lot of talented people out of a job.
WEB3 music streaming platform Tune.FM raises another $50 million in funding. The de-centralized system plans to pay artists 90% of their streaming revenue, a figure nearly unheard of in music streaming. Learn more about Spotify’s revenue split and about Tune.FM’s plans here.
