Ever wonder what to do if you're struggling to land your first job in the Entertainment industry? Below are two of my favorite answers from prominent recruiters/voices in the music industry:

“A path into what many consider their "dream job" is inadvertently never a straight line. As with most job openings, managers want to hire somebody with a particular skillset and an ability to grow. Take every networking or job opportunity as a chance to grow professionally, and never be discouraged if you don't get your immediate dream position right away. The industry may seem very niche, but plenty of outside industry jobs can grant you the professional skillset to make a move in entertainment. Allow time to help develop your professional brand, and always be prepared for when your time comes!”

Your local record shop, radio station or music venue are a great place to look to gain experience in music and are often less sought after than other more 'prominent' companies.
